Climb Description

The climb to the village of Cañar is a pleasant route in the Alpujarras mountains. It follows a very winding road, with lots of hairpin bends as it climbs towards some of the highest peaks in Spain.

The scenery is largely open with nice views throughout. From the top a gravel road continues to climb into the Sierra Nevada mountains, which is a great option if you are riding on a mountain bike.

The climb to Cañar is open all year.

Roads & Traffic

The road surface is in good condition and there is little traffic on the climb.

Alternative Routes

This is the only way to climb to Cañar by road.
