Climb Description
Cerro Becerrero is situated close to where the provinces of Sevilla, Málaga and Córdoba all meet. It is officially part of Sevilla, however, and as such is one of the most challenging climbs in the province (there is not too much competition)! The top of the climb is marked by a TV tower, and it is the final stretch from the town of Estepa to the tower where all the difficulty lies. Here the gradient is inconsistent, with several very steep ramps which test the legs. The views are the top are rewarding, offering some nice views in all directions.
The first part of the ride from El Rubio to Estepa is much more gentle and very typical of this part of Andalucia - with a well surfaced road climbing gradually through olive groves.
Cerro Becerrero is open throughout the year.
Roads & Traffic
The road is in very good condition throughout.
There is little traffic throughout the climb, apart from a short section through the town of Estepa. After passing through Estepa, traffic is pretty much non-existant.
