Climb Description

Puerto de las Abejas is a climb on the edge of the Sierra de las Nieves mountain range in the province of Málaga. It is possible to do the climb as part of a longer route from either Ronda or the city of Málaga, and is best included with other ascents rather than as a standalone climb.

From El Burgo the climb to Puerto de las Abejas (which literally means 'Pass of the Bees') is scenic in places, with some nice views looking down towards El Burgo. However, the finest views are hidden by a mountain and so it is mostly pleasant rather than spectacular. It is also a very gentle climb, with no challenging gradients.

Puerto de las Abejas is open throughout the year.

Roads & Traffic

The road surface is in very good condition throughout and there is generally little traffic on the climb.
