Climb Description
Torcal de Antequera is one of the best climbs in the Málaga province of Andalucía. It is situated close to the historic town of Antequera and climbs to a visiting center for the unique rock formations which are found in the zone.The climb from Villanueva is quite challenging, with several steep kilometres interspersed with flatter sections. It is open scenery throughout the vast majority of the climb, offering some fine views, particularly as you ascend to higher elevations.
Torcal de Antequera is open throughout the year.
Roads & Traffic
The road surface is in excellent condition throughout.
There is some traffic leaving Villanueva, before becoming relatively quiet for most of the climb. It gets busier during weekends and holidays when there are usually more cars driving up to El Torcal, but it is still generally fine for cycling.
