Climb Description
La Rabassa is a long and quite challenging climb in the south of Andorra, near to the border with Spain. It can be climbed by two different roads, although both start and finish in exactly the same place. The climb via Juberri is the side that has been ascended twice in the Vuelta a España - with Alessandro Ballan winning the only stage finish here. The climb via Aixirivall is the slightly more open and scenic, with some enjoyable switchbacks coming out of Aixirivall. The scenery at the top is a bit disappointing though, with trees and a rather unattractive ski area blocking the views into Spain.
La Rabassa is open throughout the year, but we would recommend riding it from June to October for the best conditions.
