Climb Description
Valle de Lago is a fairly short but challenging climb in the heart of the Somiedo Natural Park. The gradients regularly kick into double figures for reasonably long sections, although the climb does become easier towards the top.Like all of the climbs in the Somiedo mountains, it is a beautiful ascent with open scenery overlooking the spectacular green countryside. The Somiedo Natural Park is the most diverse ecological region in Western Europe, and is home to significant populations of bears, wolves, golden eagles and vultures. It is a natural paradise, and also great for cycling!
The climb to Valle de Lago is usually open for most of the year, but can close at times in winter following heavy snow.
