Climb Description
Garrastatxu is a short and steep climb to a chapel in the Basque region of Northern Spain. It has featured as a stage finish in the Tour of the Basque Country cycling race, with its gradients often causing decisive splits in the field. The first 2km are especially challenging, with several stretches between 18% and 20%.The scenery is nothing special for most of the climb, with any views obsucred by forest. However, it does open up slightly by the parking area just before the chapel, offering some pleasant views into the Gorbeia Natural Park.
Garrastatxu is open throughout the year.
