Climb Description
Orduña is a pleasant climb on the border between the Basque Country and the province of Burgos. The top of the climb is in Burgos, but the majority of the ascent is situated in Alava - the southern most of the three Basque provinces.Much of the climb is made up by a series of spectacular hairpin bends which wind their way up a near sheer cliff face. These offer fantastic views and the steep gradients make it a tricky and challenging descent. The top part of the climb is more open and offers views in the distance of the great Spanish meseta.
Orduña is open throughout the year, but is subject to short term closures in the winter following heavy snowfall.
