Climb Description
Puerto de La Sía is an excellent climb in the heart of the Collados de Asón Natural Park. It is essentially two climbs in one, with the road first cresting the Collado de Asón before continuing the climb to the border between Cantabria and Castilla-y-León.Rather unusually, the better scenery is found on the lower slopes, particularly during the hairpins shortly before the Collado de Asón, which offer really stunning views along the valley. The upper slopes are largely shrouded in trees, with only occasional glimpses of the beautiful green countryside.
The Puerto de la Sía does close at times during winter due to snow; although the closures tend to be sporadic rather than long term. The climb is open as far as the Collado de Asón throughout the year.

The road is in good condition and there is little traffic throughout the climb.
