Climb Description

Navafría is a pleasant climb and is very popular with local riders from the Madrid area. The scenery is typical of the region - and in particular the Guadarrama Mountains. Nearly all of the route is within forest and, although it is pleasant, there are no really spectacular views. The climb finishes on the border with Madrid at a small ski area.

Navafría is open throughout the year. Short term closures are possible in winter, but the road is usually cleared quickly.

Roads & Traffic

The road is in good condition throughout and there is little traffic on the climb.
