Climb Description
La Creueta is one of the best cycling climbs in Catalonia. It is quiet, has an excellent roads surface, goes to a high altitude and, most importantly, has stunning scenery throuhgout the climb. It is not the easiest climb to get to the start of, but it is well worth the effort as this is one of the most rewarding ascents in Spain. It is not the most challenging climb in the region, but the steady gradients deserve some respect over such a long distance, but the surroundings of the beautiful Montgrony mountains and the Puigllancada peak will take your mind off any difficulties.
La Creueta often closes for short periods in the winter due to snow; however, it there are times during warmer weather when it will stay open even in the colder months.
Roads & Traffic
The road surface is in very good condition and there is very little traffic on this side of the climb.
