Climb Description
La Vansa from Tuixent is a pleasant climb to a ski area in the Catalan Pyrenees. It is one of the highest climbs in the area and gets increasingly steeper towards the top, making it a challenging ascent. The climb first reaches the Coll de Port, from where you can either continue straight ahead to Port del Comte, or turn right to La Vansa. We would recommend going to La Vansa, which is a smaller and more picturesque climb, rather than continuing to the large and more developed resort of Port del Comte.
The climb from this side is largely in open scenery, with some nice views in particular as you climb the various switchbacks.
La Vansa is usually open throughout the year, with any snow cleared during winter to allow access to the ski area.
Roads & Traffic
The road surface is in good condition and there is generally very little traffic on the climb.
