Climb Description
Port Ainé is a cycling climb in the Catalan Pyrenees, finishing at a hotel and a small ski area. It is one of the highest road climbs in the region, but is not one of the most scenic, with much of the ascent shrouded in forest; although there are plesant views at the top of the climb. In theory the climb to the hotel is open throughout the year, as the road is routinely cleared of snow in the winter (partly to enable access to the ski resort near the summit). However, short term closures are possible depending on the amount of snowfall from December to April.
Roads & Traffic
The road surface is generally in good condition.
Most of the climb itself is quiet, with little traffic throughout. However, the road from which the climb starts (the C-13) is busy and carries fast moving traffic, so take a lot of care here if you are cycling to the start.
