Santa Fe de Montseny from Sant Celoni is a long and steady climb. The gradients are rarely steep, but it is necessary to judge your effort well, as the length is reasonably challenging.
The climb heads into the picturesque Montseny Natural Park; although unfortunately the road is largely lined by trees so there are few spectacular views. It is worth taking the detour 4km to the top to head to Turo de l'Home where there is a nice viewpoint overlooking the Mediterranean coast.
Santa Fe de Montseny is a pleasant climb that is worth doing if you are in the area - and it is hugely popular with cyclists based in Barcelona. However, it is not really worth making a trip here specifically to do the climb. And if you choose to do so, it is more scenic when climbed from the north.
It is usually open throughout the year. Short term closures are possible falling snowfall in winter, but it normally re-opens quite promptly.
