Climb Description
Puerto de Honduras is one of the highest road passes in the Extremadura region. It is also the most scenic and enjoyable climb in the area, with the plateau near the top offering beautiful views into the valley below. It is also possible to see the Gredos Mountains to the east - a range frequently referenced in Ernest Hemmingway's For Whom the Bell Tolls for being a hotbed of resistance fighters.Puerto de Honduras is open throughout the year; although short term closures are possible in winter.
