Climb Description
The climb to Guayadeque begins from the main square in the center of Aguimes, one of the oldest cities in the Canary Islands. From there it heads east along the GC-103 road through the Guayadeque valley, before arriving at the cave houses that mark the end of the road. The gradients are relatively gentle as you leave Aguimes, but become steep in the second half, with long sections above 10%. The scenery is pleasant throughout, with impressive hills rising up on either side of the valley.
The climb to Guayadeque is open throughout the year.
Roads & Traffic
The road surface is not the greatest. It is fully paved, but it is rough and slightly bumpy in places. It's not too much of an issue when climbing, but is a bit uncomfortable
when you descend back to Aguimes. It's still perfectly fine to ride on a road bike though.
There is generally very little traffic throughout the climb. It becomes slightly busier at weekends, but isn't really bothersome for riding.
