Climb Description
The climb from La Aldea de San Nicolas is the most challenging to the Mogán viewpoint, which is situated above the town of Mogán itself. It follows the wide and well surfaced GC-200 road and is a classic 'climb of two halves'.The first part, until the Cactus Park in the village of El Hoyo is pretty gentle and relaxing. The final 4km, however, are much more challenging, with gradients regularly into double figures. The wide road makes the gradient look more shallow than it is, but don't be deceived, you'll need to put the power down to make it to the top.
The scenery is pleasant, but not as spectacular as some of the other climbs nearby. There are some nice sea views when you get towards the top and the rocks are impressive in places, but Mogán is better treated as a shorter ascent linking other routes, rather than as a standalone climb in itself.
Mogán is open throughout the year.
