Climb Description
Passo Gardena from Corvara is a very enjoyable cycling climb in the heart of the Dolomites. It combines flatter sections with sweeping hairpin bends, all beneath the spectacular limestone peaks which dominate the skyline in this region.Comprising part of the Sella Ronda route (along with Passo Pordoi Passo Sella and Passo Campolongo), the Gardena has been used many times in the Giro d'Italia, and is extremely popular with amateur riders.
The main reason why we have not given it a ***** rating is that, compared with some other climbs, it often gets busy with cars and motorbikes.
Passo Gardena is best climbed from late May to early October.
