Climb Description
Passo di Mortirolo is a name that is known by cycling fans throughout the world. The ascent from Grosio is a challenging climb, although not as tough as the iconic ascent from Mazzo. It is often used as the descent after climbing from Mazzo.The climb is mostly in forest, but is very enjoyable and, the shade will be a welcome relief if you are climbing in the hotter summer months.
Mortirolo is best climbed from May to October, but can be open longer in some years.
Roads & Traffic
The road surface is in good condition.
There is slightly more traffic here than on the Mazzo side, but it is still very quiet.
