Climb Description
Passo Costalunga from Bolzano is a long cycling climb which takes you from the city of Bolzano into the Dolomites. Make sure you avoid the busy SS-241 road and follow this quiet and picturesque route, which is a lot of fun to ride, even if it lacks really spectacular scenery. The climb has fairly steady and modest gradients, by the standards of the Dolomites, and so you can settle into a nice rhythm and really enjoy the climb. It is largely same as the climb to Passo Nigra from Bolzano, and it is worthwhile doubling back to also visit that pass.
Passo Costalunga is best climbed from May to October.
