Climb Description
Alto de Rivas is a gentle and steady climb through the Rioja wine region, finishing on the border with the Basque Country. The lower slopes pass through the delightful vineyards that are so typical of the region. After passing through the village of Rivas de Tereso, the climb takes on a more mountainous feel, with a series of looping corners making for a pleasant and fun ride. The ascent from this side begins in the historic village of San Vicente de la Sonsierra. Here you can visit the picturesque hilltop castle and church as well as the medieval bridge over the River Ebro.
Alto de Rivas is open throughout the year.
