Climb Description
Puig de Randa is situated close to the town of Llucmajor. Unlike most climbs in Mallorca, it is not in the Tramuntana Mountains, but is in a small range of hills in the south of the island. The climb begins from the small village of Randa, which is situated just off the Ma-5010 between Llucmajor and Algaida. The climb itself follows the Ma-5018 to the sanctuary at the top of the hill.
Puig de Randa is one of the lesser known climbs in Mallorca - a result of its rather disconnected location. The scenery here is not as pleasant as in the Tramuntana Mountains, but it is well worth climbing if you are in the area because it gives a different perspective of Mallorca.
The top of the climb is the highest point for miles around and, on a clear day, offers views across the island.
Roads & Traffic
The road is in fairly good condition. It is fully asphalted with no major pot-holes; but it is a bit rough in places and not as smooth as most of the climbs in Mallorca.
There is little traffic on the climb throughout the year.
