Climb Description
Col de Bagargi from Basaburua is an enjoyable climb in the Basque Pyrenees, close to the border between France and Spain. This is the slightly easier side, but the gradients here are inconsistent and it is still a challenging ride. The first 8km are particularly tough; however, from here it becomes easier with some flat and downhill sections. Just before the top of the climb it is possible to continue slightly higher by turning left and following a road which leads to the Col de Sensibil - an unmarked climb which is one of the highest in the area (1536m).
Col de Bagargi is open throughout the year subject to the weather. Short term closures due to snow are common in winter, but generally do not last more than a week or two.
