Climb Description
The climb to Teno Alto begins in El Palmar on the TF-436. From here you follow the signs to Teno Alto, leaving the main road behind and following a single lane road towards the mountains in the west. The summit is situated 3km before you reach the village of Teno Alto. It is unmarked but is fairly easy to identify as the road immediately starts to descend. It is only a short climb, but it is quite a challenging ascent. The gradient is irregular and there are several sections in excess of 15%. However, there are also plenty of more gentle sections where you can recover, so it shouldn't prove too difficult for experienced cyclists.
The scenery is pleasant, but not as spectacular as some of the other routes nearby.
Roads & Traffic
The road surface is in reasonable condition. It has been recently asphalted, but it is quite a rough corrugated surface in places. This is more annoying on the descent than when climbing.
There is very little traffic throughout the climb.
