Climb Description
The ascent of Teno Alto via Teno is in one of the most secluded areas of Tenerife. The climb begins 2km to the west of Teno and continues climbing through the village in the direction of El Palmar. The summit is 3km after Teno and is unmarked, but is obvious when you get there. It's a deceptively tough climb, with steep gradients interspersed with flat sections. This is the more picturesque side of the climb and the scenery here is very pleasant, with some fine views of the coast. The main negative is that the road surface is not the best, but it isn't too bad, and this is certainly still a very enjoyable little descend to add on to a longer ride.
Roads & Traffic
The road surface is in reasonable condition. It has been recently asphalted, but it is quite a rough corrugated surface in places. This is more annoying on the descent than when climbing.
There is very little traffic throughout the climb.
