Climb Description
Puerto de Almedíjar is a mountain pass in the Sierra Espadan Natural Park. It is an enjoyable climb which is not too far from the cities of Valencia and Castellón.The climb on the Almedíjar side is quite steady, with the gradients only really touching 10% in the final kilometre. The scenery is better on the lower slopes, where there are nice views around the valley - the top of the climb is surrounded by trees.
It is open throughout the year, and the mild Mediterranean climate makes it an enjoyable climb even in winter.
Roads & Traffic
The road surface is mostly in good condition. It deteriorates slightly in the last few kilometres, but is still absolutely fine to ride on a road bike.
There is little traffic on the climb.
