Climb Description
Alto de Beneixama is a gentle climb which crosses from the province of Alicante into Valencia. It has pleasant scenery, situated not far from the Sierra Mariola Natural Park, with much of the climb from this side in forest. The village of Beneixama, from where the climb begins, is notable for being the home of the liquor known as Herbero. Containing around twenty different local herbs, it is a flavorful drink that is traditionally enjoyed as a shot or a digestif in the towns of inland Alicante.
Alto de Beneixama is a nice climb to include as part of a longer route, rather than basing a ride around it and is open throughout the year.
