Climb Description
Alto de la Sombra is a short and punchy climb from the town of Cocentaina. It has inconsistent gradients, with several stretches reaching double figures, before levelling out for a while. It's a scenic little climb, with great views behind of the Sierra Mariola and Cocentaina's impressive castle. It's one of the most enjoyable ways to leave the Cocentaina-Alcoy valley and head towards the rolling mountain roads around Millena and Planes.
Alto de la Sombra is open and highly enjoyable to climb throughout the whole year.

The road is in mixed condition. Some of it has been recently resurfaced and is perfect. The other half is stil rideable, but is a bit rough in places
