Climb Description
The Coll del Cid from Petrer is a short and irregular climb in the Sierra del Cid mountains of Alicante. The average gradients hide several steep pitches, which make it a deceptively tough little climb. This is the more scenic side of the climb, with open scenery and pleasant views of the mountains. It is most commonly ridden as a circle with the nearby Xorret de Catí, although it can also be ridden as a standalone ascent.
The poor road surface, particularly in the final kilometre, does make for a slightly bumpy ride on a road bike, but it is all rideable.
The climb to Coll del Cid is open throughout the whole year.
Roads & Traffic
The road surface is of variable quality. The first few kilometres after Petrer are very good, but it gets worse the higher you climb, and is quite rough and bumpy towards the top.
