Climb Description
Coves de Canelobre is a nice climb starting not far from the coast in Campello. It mostly has quite gentle gradients, and also some fairly long downhill sections in the middle, and so is not particularly challenging. The first few kilometres are not the most scenic, but around the town of Busot it becomes much more spectacular, with fantastic open views of the mountains. The climb finishes at the Coves of Canelobre, which is a set of large karst caves, housing dramatic calcite formations.
The town of Busot is also worth a brief stop. You can visit the castle or enjoy a coffee in the historic centre.
The climb to Coves de Canelobre is open throughout the whole year.
Roads & Traffic
The road surface is in very good condition throughout most of the climb. After passing the town of Busot, it does become slightly rougher, but is still absolutely
fine to ride on a road bike.
There is generally little traffic throughout the climb, particularly after Busot it becomes very quiet.
