Climb Description
The climb of El Portell is a short and punchy climb from the town of Bocairent into the Sierra Mariola Natural Park. The first kilometre is the most challenging, and it becomes progressively more gentle towards the top as you enter the plateau of the Mariola. It's a scenic ascent through pine and oak forests, with occasional views down into the valley. The real highlight of the route however comes at the top of the climb. We highly recommend continuing on the beautiful CV-794 road all the way through the Mariola into Alcoy.
The climb to El Portell is usually open throughout the whole year.
