Climb Description
Miserat is certainly one of the toughest road climbs in the Alicante province; and the climb from Adsubia is the most challenging side. The challenge lies mainly in the consistently steep gradients; with several quite long sections at 20% or above. There is some respite in the middle part of the climb before kicking up again in the final 2km. The broken road surface in places adds to the difficulty, with some steep sections having to be done seated to avoid losing traction.Aside from its difficulty, Miserat is a very picturesque climb, with the latter part offering views in all directions. The top of the climb is the highest point around and provides views over the coast as well as the scenic Gallinera and Ebo valleys.
Miserat is open throughout the year.
Roads & Traffic
The road surface is of mixed quality. The first stretch from Adsubia to the junction with the Pego-Vall d'Ebo road is mostly good, although a bit broken in places.
After joining the road coming up from Pego, the surface deteriorates with several potholes and gravel stretches. It is still passable on a road bike, but at times you have to pick a line with care. The final kilometre to the radar station has been recently re-paved and is in very good condition.
Traffic is practically non-existant throughout the climb.
Port d'Ebo
