Climb Description
Palomarets is a pleasant climb in the Maigmó mountains, just to the north of Alicante. The first few kilometres are very easy, with no hidden difficulties. The final 6km are much more inconsistent, with quite long sections above 12% gradient. It's a scenic climb, with fine views over both the mountains and the coast. The area around Palomarets itself is particularly popular with para-gliders, who launch themselves off the dramatic granite cliffs.
The climb to Palomarets is usually open throughout the whole year.

The road surface is excellent condition for the first 5km. After that it deteriorates, with some potholes and rougher sections. It is rideable on a road bike, but is best
