Climb Description
This is the toughest way to climb to El Revolcat, with some steep gradients coming after the village of San Rafael. It is a scenic ascent, with views of Montcabrer in the background, and is a nice way to reach the mountains of the Costa Blanca if you don't wish to ride through the city of Alcoy itself. From the top you can either descend to Alcoy or Benilloba, to continue with your route.
El Revolcat is open throughout the whole year.
Roads & Traffic
The road is in excellent condition for the first 2km until the village of San Rafael. From here it becomes more irregular, and there is a short unpaved section which, combined with
the steep gradients is tough to ride over on a road bike.
However, the unpaved bit only lasts around 100m, and then it is easily rideable again all the way to the top.
There is very little traffic throughout the climb.
